| The new Mercedes SLK of the R 171 model series adds another chapter to the success story begun by its predecessor. Cobra Technology & Lifestyle now offers an exclusive accessories program for the roadster. The Cobra Technology & Lifestyle products set themselves apart from conventional tuning for Mercedes-Benz automobiles in many details. Cobra Technology & Lifestyle refines the roadster with shiny chrome elements. The front view of the SLK is upgraded with a bumper grille made from high-gloss stainless steel and a chrome-plated radiator grille. The side view of the two-seater is highlighted with the Cobra Technology & Lifestyle side chrome styling and the chrome covers for the exterior mirror housings. In addition there are innovative applications for the front fenders and the hood. The Cobra Technology & Lifestyle designers and engineers also developed interesting and truly brilliant alternatives for the production roll bars: Customers can choose between Cobra Technology & Lifestyle chrome covers for the production bars and fully stainless-steel roadster bars. The Cobra Technology & Lifestyle chrome look is rounded out with a chrome strip for the trunk lid and the stainless-steel rear muffler. The latter also lends the SLK 200 Kompressor and the SLK 350 a more powerful engine sound.Cobra Technology & Lifestyle also offers a clear plus in terms of driving dynamics: The Cobra Sahara 8Jx18 multi-spoke wheels fill the available space in the wheel houses nicely with tires in sizes 225/40 ZR 18 in front and 245/35 ZR 18 on the rear axle. The Cobra Technology & Lifestyle threaded suspension is specifically calibrated to the use with sporty low-profile tires. It offers a firm sporty ride and allows ride-height lowering between 20 and 40 millimeters.
